The Wayfarer’s Watch-list #3: 5 On-screen Inspirations for the Itchy-footed* (movies that inspire you to travel)

I shall do something that a blabbermouth like me finds unbelievably difficult. I shall keep this post short – concise, precise, and something else that rhymes with ice.

*The wanderlusting sort of itchy-footedness, not the sort of itchy-feet you get when you have a skin infection! Ew!

1. Into the Wild

Set in: Alaska (mainly)

Lead: Emile Hirsch

Trailer via Paramount Movies, YouTube

2. Under the Tuscan Sun

Set in: Tuscany (as the title so adequately states)

Lead: Diane Lane

Trailer via MovieTrailerNetwork, YouTube

3. Eat. Pray. Love.

Set in: Indonesia, India, Italy

Lead: Julia Roberts

Trailer via Sony Pictures International, YouTube

4. Roman Holiday

Set in: Roma, Roma, Roma!

Lead(s): Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn

Trailer via Miguel Garcia, YouTube

5. Land Ho!

Set in: Iceland!

Lead(s): Earl Lynn Nelson, Paul Eenhoorn.

Stay tuned for Part II of this list – less Italy, more adventuresome flicks, more Asia, and more Paris.

What are your go-to wanderlusting films? Any suggestions (foreign films welcome)?

If you liked this post, drop me a comment, if you didn’t like it definitely drop me a comment, and if you really loved it, like it, share it, or tell your grandmother about it.
